Processing Orders
Pro Production
Pro Production is the most efficient method for processing orders in ProSelect, especially when combined with Photoshop. It streamlines the production of final images for printing or sending to a lab. This feature is exclusive to ProSelet Pro.
- Centralized Information: ProSelect saves all details of customer orders including item selection, arrangement, cropping, and special effects in the album file.
- Automated Production: Leveraging this detailed information, the High-Res Production manager automatically generates final images exactly as ordered, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- This automation significantly cuts down production time.
- Options for using an Outside Retoucher can be integrated.

Manual Processing
Processing orders manually involves handling order fulfillment and production tasks directly, rather than using automated systems. This method can include generating detailed order reports, creating production packages for external retouchers, and managing the locations of original image files.
- Generating Order Reports: To produce an order report for your production team, use the "Print Order Report" option found under the File Menu. Ensure you tick the boxes to include image notes, order notes, and client notes to provide comprehensive details for the production process. Each item in the report will also indicate if any special or custom effects need to be applied to the images.
- Creating a Production Package: For a more streamlined approach, consider creating a Production Package. This feature automatically compiles everything needed (including notes and images) and sends it to an external retoucher, saving time and reducing errors.
- Locating Original Files:
- On the Same Computer: If the album file is opened on the same computer where it was created, ProSelect will automatically know the location of the original files.
- On a Different Machine or Moved Files: If the album is used on a different machine, or if the original files have been moved, use the "Find Original Images" or "Find Ordered & Book Original Images" options under the Images Menu to re-locate the files.
- Managing Original Images:
- Moving or Copying Images: Use the "Move Ordered Images to..." or "Copy Ordered Images to..." options under the Images Menu to relocate or duplicate the ordered images. If moving, ProSelect updates to the new file locations; copying keeps the original links unchanged.
- Handling Raw Files: If the "Link/Bypass Raw files" setting is enabled in Settings, associated Raw files will also be moved or copied accordingly.
- Resetting Image Links:
- Finding New Image Locations: Holding the Shift key while selecting the find images command will reset all image statuses to "Not Found," allowing you to set a new location for all images. This is useful if you've copied your images to another location and need ProSelect to link to these new copies.
Remember, you can always view the linked location of any image by selecting "Show Selected Image Info" from the Images menu. This helps ensure that all image files are correctly linked and accessible for processing and production.
