Preparing for Price List Setup
Using Supplier Collections
ProSelect features curated collections from various well-known suppliers, which include templates and supplier costs to simplify your pricing setup. It is advisable to first verify if your preferred supplier is available on the Pro Studio Software website. You can import Collections from multiple suppliers into ProSelect. Learn more by clicking on Supplier Collections. If there isn't a collection for your chosen supplier, you can follow alternative steps to establish pricing independently of a specific supplier collection.
Using a Non-Specified Supplier/Lab
Before you begin setting up your prices in ProSelect, it is helpful to plan out your product offerings in a spreadsheet. ProSelect can generate a spreadsheet for you. Just fill it out with the products you want to offer. If you already have a product price list, you can likely use that. By being prepared with your desired products and their details, the setup process in ProSelect should take no more than 30 minutes. Follow the instructions below to get started:
- Determine Print Options:
- Decide on the finishes and styles you want to offer for your prints. These may include acrylic, canvas, metal, standard photographic prints, or art prints. Take note of any stylized names, such as Giclee or Bonded Canvas.
- Refer to your lab's offerings and ensure that the sizes you want to offer are available. Keep in mind that paper prints usually have more size options compared to acrylic or metal. It's a good idea to create a spreadsheet to assist you in this process.
- Create a spreadsheet with lab paper sizes listed down the left column and the finishes you want to offer across the top. Fill in the prices in the cells for each size and finish.
- Pricing Method:
- If you prefer to price your products by marking up the cost, use the method Supplier Cost x Markup. Enter the lab price in the cells and apply a markup factor within ProSelect.
- If your pricing is more arbitrary or subjective, use a fixed price. Enter the desired selling price in the fields.
- Note on Importing Information:
- Keep in mind that you won't be able to import this spreadsheet directly into ProSelect. Instead, it serves as a working document for your reference during the setup process. You must use one of ProSelects specially generated spreadsheets for import.
- Gallery Wraps:
- Next, focus on setting up prices for Gallery Wraps. Gallery Wraps may have different options available, such as Standard and Premium, with varying thicknesses. Decide which options you want to offer and add them to your spreadsheet.
- Additional Extras:
- Determine if you have any add-ons or additional options for prints and gallery wraps. Examples could include print mounting, special textures, laminates, special hanging hardware, or additional enhancements. Make a note of the cost for each of these extras and add them to your document.
By following these steps, you'll be well-prepared to set up your prices in ProSelect efficiently. Remember to consult your spreadsheet as a reference while entering the pricing information in the software.
